一例を挙げます。
There is no doubt that the fact that something has happened a number of times before causes men and chickens to expect it to happen again.
この部分はThere is no doubt that…で「…に疑いはない」ということで「…」の部分に完全な文が来るはずだと考えられます。次にthe fact that…で「…という事実」だろうと推測できるので、再び「…」の部分に完全な文が来ると考えられます。それがsomething has happened a number of times beforeです。これはthe factの内容ですので、カッコに入れていったん無視して、the fact causes men and chickens to expect it to happen againだと構造を把握すると見通しがよくなります。
